Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson who were both lawyers. As a child she attended at the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma always had the desire to be a professional actress since she was aged six. She studied at Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford which is an acting academy that offers part-time classes. As early as age ten she was involved and played the leading role in numerous Stagecoach Productions and School Plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, the 2001 film version from J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was filmed in 1999. Emma was discovered by Emma's Oxford Theater teacher. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint following auditions for 8 times. They were cast as three leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's debut on screen came with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's release in 2001. The film broke records for the opening day sales as well as opening week-end take-offs and became the top-grossing movie in 2001. The critics were impressed by the performance of the film as well as its story. The Daily Telegraph in Britain that is distributed widely the newspaper, described her performance as outstanding. Emma later won five awards to honor her role in the movie.
